06/01/02 - Initial Disassembly:

After some deliberation, I have decided to document the rebuild of Village Idiot, and make public my progress as I go. I was considering keeping the changes to the robot under wraps until the next competition I enter, but it's just not me... If you are familiar with the robot at all, you will see that there are some pretty radical changes in this rebuild! >:)

Yep, it's true! I decided to go gas baby! Yay for ICE! I thought a medium sized 2-Stroke would be a perfect match for Village Idiot. I figured I would give it a try this time and see how it goes. I love the idea that ICE has more torque at a higher RPM, and the bang for the weight is DEFINITELY impressive. It looks like I will be able to get this saw under 9lbs with all the fixin's, and have 3.1hp and "gobs of torque" when it counts, at weapon impact!

This saw is the Husqvarna 350. Check their website for the vitals: http://www.usa.husqvarna.com/Folder_263/node533.asp?id=3
